GENERAL HELPER

The General Helper work as part of the manufacturing team and is responsible to package products, load material hoppers, help to load materials onto machines and maintain work areas in accordance with 5S program and help to continually improve the safety, quality and productivity of the area. This position will report to the Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities

• Wear required PPE & follow all standard operating procedure to ensure safety, quality & productivity
• Report safety concerns to Supervisor and participate & support our safety program
• Inspect & maintain production area according to 5S program
• Pack products in accordance with packaging instructions, apply labels, make packaging boxes, apply strapping to finished packaged pallets
• Complete production and quality paperwork as required
• Load correct materials into material hoppers, monitor levels and fill with required raw material
• Assist loading rolls of material onto machines
• Monitor supplies and inform Supervisor or Lead Hand when materials are running low
• Move completed product using pallet jacks or other equipment
• Perform cleaning and organization tasks as assigned by Supervisor
• Keep work area constantly clean; pick-up materials and put into appropriate waste baskets; bale materials for processing

Qualifications and Accreditations

• English communication skills – verbal and written

Experience

• Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others
• Familiar with safety regulations in industrial manufacturing facilities
• Previous experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment considered an asset
• Previous experience using hand tools
